Bowl Blogging - edited 4th quarter

Go Hokies!! Well, we are watching the Chick Fil-A Bowl and so far the score is 21 - 3. Not too bad - hopefully we can keep it all together and finish in the lead. (HAHA) Anyway, thought I would catch up here during halftime! Christmas was fun - the girls had a blast! They not only opened their presents and 'helped' the rest of open ours too. The girls got lots of fun stuff and we finally gave them their bikes from their birthday! They loved them, except that it rained for two days and so they rode their bikes in the garage! It was really cute watching them go around and around, but after a few minutes I was getting dizzy! Their favorite presents: a plastic fishing rod with magnetic fish (dollar store) and little tin trains with wheels - meant to put candy in (Target after Christmas clearance last year!)

I am feeling good! I finally have lots of energy! No more naps - but I will admit that usually around 8 I sit on the couch and don't move again, until bedtime! Okay, and bedtime is usually around 10 for me - strange since I am usually a late-nighter!

We are going out with a group of friends to celebrate New Years tomorrow night! We usually go to Dante's Down the Hatch with Natalie and Greg. This year Jen and Rob are going with us as well - and I think we will actually be sitting right by the boat and the alligator moat!! Too fun!!

And DH found this link the other day and I just had to share it with you all. Kelli and I have been passing the velamints back and forth for years, at least they are not quite as perishable as a hot dog! Yuck!!

Well, Happy New Year everyone!! I hope that you all have a wonderful night and I will blog again next year! Oh, but here are the last pictures of the year of the girls - they were 'modeling' yesterday! Also, a picture of the girls and Grandpa, who was here for Christmas this year! Okay, and by the time I have finished the pictures and the links - the score is 21-13! I guess that if I stop here - we might go back to the dominating football?? Hopefully Hokies.

And perhaps the final edit for the night. HOKIES WHAT DID YOU DO AT HALFTIME?? BUD FOSTER? hello?? Defense?? No lunch box for you. Glennon?? Interceptions?? BEAMER BALL?? What is that? AAGH - so frustrating, except I am glad that I didn't pay for tickets to go to the game at this point. But I have a little hope. 5 minutes left - will I need to blog again??

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Eve! I hope that you all are enjoying some time with your families and waiting patiently for Santa to arrive! A and B are so excited! They have their reindeer food ready for the lawn and I know they will have no trouble picking out cookies to leave for Santa! A and B would like you to know that if you are worried about where Santa is you can track him, RIGHT HERE!

Have a Merry Christmas!! Karen

Crazy Kids!!

Kids say the craziest things!! That sounds so cliche, but oh my goodness - so TRUE! The other day in the car on the way to my doctor's office for a blood draw - the girls started talking about the baby! B wanted to know that after I had my blood out if we could go and get the baby out too. I told her it was still too early! Then they started talking about if they would like a brother or a sister. A would like a little girl with lots of hair named 'baby.' B then chimed in and she wants a little brother, named 'baby' - but of course, the arguement began. Sister, Brother, Sister, Brother . . . . and then B came up with a brilliant idea, she said, I think we should get a "mix." A mix?? Yup - that is what she said. So I just told her that doesn't really work too well. And they were quiet and thinking about that for a little while and forgot that they were fighting!! Good!!

So today I am cleaning a little bit and now I am just waiting for the floors to dry to I can finish my list . . . laundry, vaccuum and clean the kitchen and pantry. Then I need to decide what to make for Christmas dinner and go to the grocery store!! Today I might just need to rent one of the video carts at Publix. That way the girls can sit inside the cart and watch Bob the Builder while I get all the groceries that I need! It costs a dollar, but the girls just sit in their seats and watch television and not get bored!!! I know, using the tv to keep the kids occupied sounds like bad - but at this time of year when I want to get in and out of the supermarket as quickly as possibe - it might just be a special treat for A and B!!

Just checking in!

Hi everyone, I am procrastinating, as usual!! So I grabbed the laptop and thought, hum, blog that takes up time!!! I really don't want to clean up the house nor do I want to cook dinner - but I need to do both!!

My dad comes on Saturday and even if I am not too worried about what the house looks like for him, I just heard from DH's family from Maryland - that they would like to come by and visit. We actually have family in Augusta, the Maryland group are driving down to visit them and would like to come here for some holiday fun!! AAGH, but don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to seeing them - I love that we will have some different visitors here - but NOW I HAVE TO CLEAN!! Dh's grandmother's identical twin sister will be coming here - so I just want to make sure she has only good things to report back to Richmond!!

Funny story of the week - we told the girls that they were going to have a brother/sister soon. All because B kept telling me that I was getting fat. Normally, this wouldn't bother me, but she kept doing it in public, usually in a line - and then people would look at me. I would turn red and blush because it is just so embarrasing to be called fat. Baby A took the news well - and told me that she would like to have a tiny baby in her tummy too (See last post for my fears of 4 going on 16.) I told she would have to wait a VERY long time for that. But B just insisted that I am eating too many cookies and there is no baby. Okay, so I do love Christmas cookies and maybe I have eated a few too many this year, but she is in denial!! Still, a few days after the fact, she insists there is no new baby - becuase she doesn't like babies. KIDS!!

So I should focus on some positive things about the holidays to get me through the cleaning . . . and my favorite things about Christmas include . . .

1. Christmas Pudding! My mom made it every year for us and now I make it!! It involves rasins, currents, bread crumbs and spices! I love it!! Next time any of you come to visit I will make it for you - no matter when you are here!!
2. Our nativity! Dh's grandmother made an amazingly pretty nativity that we put out every year - it looks a lot like the one that I grew up with! And amidst the craziness of the season I love that it reminds me of why we celebrate Christmas in the first place!
3. Christmas morning - crazy piles of wrapping paper, coffee, laughter from the girls and everyone wearing pj's until 1:00pm and not caring!!
4. The star on top of our tree is a moravian glass star and it is beautiful - in fact I keep it out year round on the bookshelves b/c I like to look at it so much!
5. The Grinch, Frosty and Rudolph!!

What are your favorite things about Christmas??

Oh my goodness, an update!!

Hello Everyone!! I am done wrapping, we have finished decorating the house - now all I have to do is clean and buy food for Christmas dinner! So I guess I am about 1/2 done with all the things that I need to do!! My dad is coming for Christmas this year, so it really doesn't need to be too clean - but since the guest bedroom is full of wrapping paper bits and empty decoration boxes - I do need to clear enough room in there for him to sleep!

The Christmas card, well, I have the picture, but who knows when it will get mailed off to everyone! I am thinking it will be a Happy New Year card instead, that way I don't have to count it in the things I don't have to finish in the next week!!

The girls had their Christmas show at school this week - so here are a few pics. It was hard to get right in front of them - but the little blond boy in the pics - has a crush on both girls and would like them to come play at his house. I hate to tell him that B is in love with someone else. She is in love with Stratton. And we know this because, she kissed him on the playground - on the lips. AAAAGHHHHAAAAHHHH!! And then, before I could run across the playground to STOP her, he kissed her on the forehead and hugged her. 4 years old people, 4. I didn't even know how to explain to her it was not okay to kiss boys because it was so innocent. And A really likes Jake, the little blond boy and can't wait to go to his house to play. OH MY GOODNESS! They are 4 going on 16 and I can't take it!

I also have a few new pics of me that I took today. I got a haircut Tuesday and Kate had to cut off about 6 inches of hair - it was SOOOOO long. Yuck! I am now 15 weeks along - and I look like 6 months. I have only gained 5 pounds, but heck my boobs and belly look like I have gained 20! I started prenatal water aerobics this week and I am walking on the treadmill at least 3 times a week - so hopefully I can keep in shape this time, unlike my 2 months of hospital bedrest at 3000 calories a day with A and B.

Have a great weekend!!! K out
