Story Blog . . . hum

A Story Blog sounds like fun, but I just don't know if there are enough stories in my head to fill a blog!! But, i'll think about it!!

Today I am making 24+ cupcakes for the girls to take to school tomorrow!! I did learn that you only need to fill the cups half- full before you bake them or they overflow!! Later tonight I will make the cake for the girls' party on Friday!! Of course, it is a thomas cake, no princess parties here!!

So, i am out of here - i'm thinking of story . . .

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Velamints

Once upon a time, a group of young princesses lived in a large castle called Lee Hall. One of the young princesses had moved to the castle from a far away land called Michigan. Her family sent her care packages full of wonderful candy to make her feel closer to home. Unfortunately, the care packages didn't do the trick and the young princess left the castle to return home. Before she left, two wicked princesses in the castle stole a box of her candy. They took a large rectangular brown box thinking they were taking the best candy of all from her stash. But the wicked girls never ate the candy. They put it away for safe keeping - maybe they planned to give it back to Princess Kim - or maybe not.

At the end of year, the two wicked princesses moved out of the large Lee castle and into a small clubhouse, they called #32. Here they kept the candy, again, uneaten. For the candy was now very special and seemed to be protected by a spell. Even when the princesses were hungry and didn't feel like walking to 7-11, the candy remained untouched. They dared not break the spell - for who knows what might happen if you eat them!!

All too soon, the princesses found princes and were married and moved to different kingdoms. For years, the candy has traveled back and forth between the two new queens. It has traveled by air, by car and who knows, maybe by train, but it still it is uneaten. It is sent to celebrate special occasions, but neither of the queens dare break the spell by eating the candy. And neither of the queens wants the candy in their house!! Why you ask??

BECAUSE THE CANDY SMELLS NOW!!



THANKS PRINCESS KELLI!! I love the shirt though and I am wearing it already - because I love it so much!! We haven't opened the princesses presents - but unless they were buy one get one free at the kingdom of toys last night - i didn't buy them for them!!

Toys R' Us Mania!!

Tonight we had a twins club - mom's night out at TR'us!! It was nuts and I mean it!! We have 400 members - a typical night out 10 show up. Tonight 100 members and their friends RSVP'd and showed up to take advantage of 20% off and free food! So that is impressive but what was amazing was the amount of stuff that these ladies bought!! One of the moms came up and asked if there was a limit to what you could spend and still get 20% off - um, no. She had 3 full carts plus bikes!! CRAZY SHOPPERS!!

Okay, I'll admit, if you have twins you more likely than not buy 2 of things instead of just one, but one mom bought two motorized mini-Escalades total = $500 - maybe they should share?? Moms bought bikes, doll houses, kitchens, basketball hoops - you name a big ticket item - and it was in a cart somewhere1!! I bought a few games - MIL and family really buy the rest (no real complaints here) but I think I spent the least amount of money!!

Running Mantras!!

When I started running I always needed a little repetitive mantra to say to myself; these are my top five!

1. Fast feet, strong legs, I can do this all day!
2. Numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10
3. I'm running off my (then I listed body parts . . .) bum. I'm running off my belly. I'm running off my thighs . . and so on and so on. Sometimes, when I was really tired I used words like a** instead of my civil bum comment.
4. Its all about me, Its all about me (hehe - I like this one!)
5. I'll make it to the next tree, the stop sign, or another land mark just to keep myself moving! Or I'll stop when the treadmill says . . .

German Cheese Lovers

Today I picked up the girls from school and we went through the usual routine, "what did you do today?"
Baby B smiled, "Cheese love me!" Cheese?
Okay, so I said "B, where did you go today?"
"Talk to Cheese!" What? So I pulled out the school calendar for her class and it said 'Chapel!' So I turned back to her -
"You mean Jesus loves you!"
"Yes, Cheese love me!!" It was so cute!! I was so proud of her and it must have been evident because Baby A chimed in - with her best German sounding accent -
"Je-huus love me too!"

I really love the school that they are going to!! I am raising German cheese lovers!!

10K

A couple of weekends ago I ran my first 10K!! I didn't stop - I ran the whole way!! And to top it all off - I wasn't last!! YEAH!! If you know me- you are thinking that there is no way - that I ran over 6 miles - and if you saw me in May - you are thinking - there is no way!! And honestly I have always dreaded and hated running. It seemed like a waste of time, too much work, and too much sweat!! However, I started slowly to get into shape - running for a minute and then two minutes until I could do 3 miles without stopping. I can't take the credit - b/c I followed a program on www.coolrunning.com and it worked for me!! I still run like a turtle (@12 minute mile) - and I know - create a running distance base and then work on my time!! So I have another 10k coming up in November - and it is in downtown ATL - which will be really fun to run around!! But I will be working on my time for the Peachtree Road Race next summer - which attracts runners from around the world - so that I can at least maybe create a personal best - and run like a fast turtle! Boy this sounds like an infomercial!! I just love my new hobby!!

School Stories

A and B love school! When it is a school day they both wake up bright and sunny! I love to ask them what they do at school and who they talk to. I asked B about some of their friends at school. She giggled and said "HeHe, Bryan pooped in his panties!" Well, at least she knows what the other kids do!! What a little girl!!

Insects

I started writing this as a comment on another blog and then my comment was just as long as the blog entry - so I though I should just blog this!! And I really haven't been keeping this blog going!! Sorry!
So my insect story happened at a birthday party last weekend. We were outside and there were LOTS of flies!! They kept landing on the cake - so they covered it. The mother-in-law says, and I quote, "Why cover it up, they aren't going to eat that much!" OOOHHH YUCCK - I HATE FLIES!! They weren't going to eat the cake they were going to poop on it! HELLO?!!!


Top 5 Insects that I hate:

5. Ants - they just get everywhere! We had a large swarm of them while I was pregnant - I called a neighbor to come spray them b/c I was so grossed out!!
4. Spiders - I won't jump and hide - but I think anything with 8 legs is wierd!
3. Flies - poop - need I say more?
2. Worms - they just scare me when I am gardening!
1. COCKROACHES!! They move, they run, they live in all kind of little places - and jump out at you when you least expect it!! We have these big Cockroach things outside - they are some native insect - but they are huge and just might take over Georgia some day!!
